The Conversation You’re Avoiding Is Costing You

Candour, accountability and the six moves that get stuck work moving again

Most stalled initiatives aren’t stuck on strategy. They’re stuck on a conversation nobody wants to have. Heath shows teams where they stop — using the Stall Point Assessment™ in the room — and gives them the CORNER Method™ as a shared language for moving from avoidance to action.

  • Every attendee knows their personal stall point — and the team sees its pattern
  • A shared, six-word language for hard conversations
  • One named conversation and one next step per person, before they leave the room

Best for: Leadership teams, sales kick-offs, management offsites, HR and L&D events

Leading Around the Corner: Change, AI and the Conversations That Move Teams

The human side of AI adoption, from someone who has led technology change since 1994

AI magnifies intention — good and bad. After three decades implementing technology in real businesses, Heath explains why adoption fails at the human layer, not the software layer, and how leaders can Explore, Experiment, Evaluate, Protect and Expand without leaving their people behind.

  • A clear, non-technical frame for AI: leverage for people, not a replacement for judgement
  • The questions leaders must ask before, during and after an AI rollout
  • CORNER applied to change: the conversations that make adoption stick

Best for: Executive teams, technology and innovation events, associations, SMB and franchise conferences

Success Is Always Just Around the CORNER

The signature keynote: survival, reinvention and the voices at the table

Heath thought success was about building a business. Then life taught him that building a meaningful life matters even more. A story-driven keynote about the voices that shape our decisions, the people who help us turn the corner, and the six moves anyone can practise to choose their next step.

  • A personal stall point and a seven-day drill to work it
  • The CORNER Method™ as a daily practice, with the participant workbook
  • A reason to have the conversation this week, not someday

Best for: Conferences, associations, networking organisations, faith and community events, book events

Reinvention Doesn’t Have an Expiration Date

Career change, second acts and choosing again — at any age

Survival happens once. Recovery happens every day. For audiences facing a transition — a new role, a new chapter, a business sale or a setback — Heath shows why reinvention is a repeated choice, and how to take the smallest meaningful step today.

  • A reframe of setbacks as information, not verdicts
  • One named next step and one person to engage
  • A 30-day CORNER Challenge to keep walking

Best for: Career-transition and alumni groups, 50+ and retirement-planning audiences, entrepreneur communities

Heath L. Carlson

About Heath

Heath L. Carlson is a speaker, author and AI educator who helps leaders and teams have the conversations that move them forward — through change, setbacks and the arrival of AI.

His career began in 1994 at his mother’s firm, Computer Coach, teaching accountants to trade paper ledgers for DOS-based software. The lesson stuck: technology changes; human needs don’t. Over the next three decades he founded and led three technology consulting firms — Computer Coach, Concerto Networks and today My Computer Pro in Phoenix — serving manufacturers, distributors, retailers and medical practices as a managed-services provider, fractional CTO and, now, an AI integration advisor.

Then life interrupted the plan. A near-death experience changed the question from “What can I build?” to “How will I live?” The conversations that followed became his book, Lunch with Lucifer (forthcoming from Mark Victor Hansen Library) — not a story about meeting the devil, but about meeting yourself — and a framework he now teaches to organisations: the CORNER Method™. Confront. Own. Reframe. Name the next step. Engage others. Repeat.

Heath’s keynotes and workshops pair that framework with the Stall Point Assessment™, a six-minute diagnostic that shows each person — and each team — the exact step where they tend to stop. Audiences leave with a shared language, one honest conversation to have, and a 30-day practice to make it stick. He will speak at the BNI Global Convention in Monaco in October 2026. He believes AI is leverage for people: it does not replace wisdom, it reveals how much we were bringing.

Introduction for your emcee

Our next speaker has spent 32 years helping people adopt new technology — and learned that the hardest part is never the technology. After surviving a near-death experience, he built a practical framework for the conversations we avoid. He is the creator of the CORNER Method and the author of Lunch with Lucifer. Please welcome Heath L. Carlson.
